Meals and Snacks
Kiddieland ECE offers breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks five days a week. Menus meet the nutritional standards established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and are monitor by the Association for Child Development. School meals feature a variety of healthy foods that are tasty, attractive, of excellent quality, and served at the proper safe temperatures. Seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables are served daily.
School menus are planned one month in advance and are distributed monthly, posted on Kiddieland ECE website, and posted on each parent information board in the classroom. One menu is also posted in the kitchen where any daily substitution is recorded for parent’s information. Included on the menu are alternative meals for children who require special meals due to health requirements or religious beliefs. Kiddieland ECE provides a pleasant eating experience for students with reinforcing good manners and eating habits.
The school’s Food Service staff has met all current city and state requirements for food service handling, preparation, safety, and sanitation standards. Food safety and sanitation is a key part of the School Food Service operation.
Our cook, along with many of our staff holds a Chicago Department of Public Health Certified Food Service Manager Certification and State of Illinois Department of Public Health Food Service Sanitation Certification.
